John Middleton 88 of Braybrook died at his residence on Melbourne Road. He was formerly from Warrnambool and is survived by a grown family after his wife’s recent death. The funeral was well attended and interment occurred at Melbourne Cemetery Carlton with floral tributes from the Church of England and others. The HAV McKay Memorial Fund and the Girl Guide Movement in Sunshine plan a November fundraising drive to finance a Baby Health Centre and Girl Guide Hall at the corner of Hampshire Road and Corio Street. Design by Mr. Shimmit is for a building about 2778 pounds, with about 700 pounds raised by the Memorial Committee and around 2600 pounds from the Girl Guides. Subscriptions are sought via the Shire Secretary, the Sunshine Advocate office, or Dr A Dedvick, with acknowledgments to be published in The Advocate unless directed otherwise.
