Approval to extend Maribyrnong River tramway to munition works
Cabinet approved a plan by the Tramways Board to extend the Maribyrnong River electric tram line toward the munition works. The route would run 300 yards along Raleigh Street past the Remount Depot to the works with a single track on the north side. The project, costing part funded by the Board and municipal input, aims to ease worker transport and support national munitions efforts. Road works and water mains duplication costs were discussed, with estimates to be sought from the Board of Works and presented to Braybrook council.
