Patrick John Donelly a young man of Keilor faced a local court on Thursday charged with offensive behavior at the Mechanics Hall St Albans dance on a recent Saturday. Constable Jerratt testified showing Donelly, under the influence, caused a nuisance on the platform and threatened violence. Donelly claimed he sang at the request of a committee member. He was fined and paid.

Singluar Railway Mishap Delays Deer Park Train
On Wednesday at 445 p.m. an A class engine hauling from Tottenhall and Darlings Mill Siding had a pin from its eccentric rod fall out as it entered the main line at Sunshine. The train was towed into the siding, delaying the 4.52 to Deer Park by eight minutes and the 4.56 St Albans by minutes.

Noisy Motor Cyclist Fined For Offensive Noise
Robert R Pennington was fined £3 in default imprisonment for allowing his motor cycle to emit offensive noise on Ballarat road Sun shine on August 30 at 8 30 am. Constables Jerrai and Buckley testified they heard the noise 500 yards away and found the cut out open. The driver claimed he thought it would not matter. Accused did not appear. The report of the Horticultural Society meeting will be in the next issue due to space.

Old Resident William Greig Passes Away in District
Mr William Greig senior pioneer of the district died on Wednesday at his Cornwall Road home after a short illness. Born 83 years ago in Ritcaston Edinburgh he arrived in Australia at 29 and helped shape Braybrook, building the first rental house on Hertford Road. He opposed graziers’ plans and chaired civic duties in the eastern riding in 1891 before financial troubles. He leaves a son William. The funeral leaves Cornwall Road at 1 pm today.

Mr Daniel Feeney of Rokeby Leith Avenue Sunshine died at his home at 745 pm on Monday. He was buried at Clay Cemetery at 230 pm Tuesday. A well known resident he leaves a wife four daughters and two sons. Born near Spiddall County Galway Ireland he migrated to Australia and became an Gippsland orchardist before settling in the district. Fathers Fennessy and Egan Bentleigh officiated the burial service with pall bearers OBrien Houlihan Fox McGuigan Hand Thompson Healey and Napier.
