Footrelay Football Reform Proposes Junior Policy Change

A plan to merge the 2nd eighteen into the Senior Club under General Committee control includes junior representatives as advisers, an enlarged 48 player list, and two squads coached by one coach on alternate nights. The coach will be paid for extra duties, with a rostered trainer and three to four players with the 2nd Eighteen on Saturdays. An accountable captain will lead the 2nd Eighteen, funding from the Footscray Junior Football League will not be less than £50, and senior officials will attend advisory meetings. A curtain raiser match will showcase juniors, two teams from the Junior League playing twice until all squads have appeared, to ease stage fright and show talent to members and officials. If players refuse to transfer, they face a temporary standdown from the club. Additional funding and arrangements for the reserve team are discussed.
