Keilor Opens Electric Light System With Ceremony
Keilor’s new electricity supply debuted at a switching on event in the shire hall. Mrs W J Parr cut the automatic control at 9 pm, illuminating the hall front and highway. A banquet followed for about 160 guests including local and state officials. Twenty-five private consumers are already connected and nineteen street lights are in operation along the highway and at Arundel.

Fines Imposed for School Attendance Noncompliance
In Sunshine court this morning district school attendance officer Mr Hugh A. Healy outlined eleven prior prosecutions against a Deer Park resident for failing to send his child to school. The bench headed by Mr W. J. Andrew considered remedies but decided to continue fines. a 10 shillings fine was imposed on Frank Porter of Ballarat Road, Deer Park, on three charges.
