Trial records reveal Gillam charged with assaulting Chinnery at Melbourne Quarries after a dispute over tool handling and work orders. Witnesses describe provocation and overbearing management. judge imposes a fine of 20 shillings plus costs for the four day old case.
A small Armistice Day service was held with Shire President Dr Pennell in attendance.
