Sunshine Court Assault Case In Sunshine Town
In Sunshine a billiard-room altercation led to a court case between George Francis Carter and Douglas Soutar. Carter, accused of assaulting Soutar after a dispute over a woman, had his jaw broken in the melee. Soutar claimed self defense while Carter denied striking back. The proceedings featured cross examination about prior conduct and alleged slander, with testimonies from Abby Pennell and others and a related summons issued in May.
