Secretaries and press correspondents of all public bodies and sporting clubs are invited to send notices of their activities to The Advocate. Contributors are asked to submit early in the week for free publicity to help forward district organizations. Nettlefolds Sports and Social Club announces entry of a third grade soccer team and recall of most players except W. Douglas. They plan to bolster the squad with T. Higgins from Melbourne Thistle, aiming for another strong season. Girls hockey and basketball teams enter B grade and local association respectively, with a new tennis court and ground rearrangements enhancing facilities and pavilion upgrades.

Mrs F. Challis, aged 69, died at Brushwood Coolamon NSW on 11 March after a long illness. A Sunshine resident, she and her husband ran a furniture shop in Devonshire Road. The bereaved husband and two daughters Mrs W Boynton and Mrs E Griggs, and two sons A N Challis Shoreham and J W Challis Monegella, are consoled by sympathy messages.
Mrs Elizabeth Emma Jackson aged 75 died on March 18 at the residence of her daughter Mrs R Peacock in Rockbank. She is survived by her daughter and other relatives according to local notices.
A meeting addressed by Mr Dennan of the Footscray Unemployed Committee and Mr Meagher of the Butchers' Union planned a large demonstration in Hampshire Road near Robinson's tonight. Speakers will urge both employed and unemployed members to join and appeals to Sunshine shopkeepers for support.
