Cordite Bridge Safety Report Sparks Council Action
An eminent bridge engineer Mr Isanca submitted a report on Cordite Bridge to Keilor shire council. Shire engineer Mr Walters warned eight ton loads would seriously strain the structure while five ton loads may not yet cause major harm. He urged immediate co operation with Braybrookshire council to declare a five ton limit. There is hope of a government grant to improve roads near the bridge and possible plans for a new bridge due to wear from heavy horse traffic.
