Miss Annie Foster married Donald McLeod at Sunshine Presbyterian Church in a pink modern gown. The ceremony featured Scottish accents and community ties with speeches by G Foster RK Murdoch J Brown D Foster and Norman McDonald and a reception hosted by Mrs Foster in the school hall.
Sun Shine boxer Jack Mattinson won the novice lightweight division in the Victorian amateur boxing contests. He beat A Box on points in the semi final and defeated McCormick in the final to secure the title.

On Saturday last Mr A J Boyd's motor van carrying Sunshine football fans to South Melbourne collided with another vehicle. Mrs Searle received abrasions and bruises, Mr Boyd had a facial cut and leg bruises, other female passengers were slightly injured, and the other driver's injuries were the most serious needing medical attention. The Boyd van was badly damaged.
