A recommendation will be sent to the council on Monday to accept Mr Hargreaves resignation and appoint deputy town clerk Mr T W Deulschmann. Motor Cyclist Fined for Dangerous Driving

A motor cyclist, Alexander Graham, aged 62, of Glenhuntly Head, Glenhuhity, was fined £5 at Sunshing Court for dangerous driving after speeding along Ballarat Road and passing between ten and? two cars in a given distance. Const. Surman stated the defendant claimed he wanted to reach church and doubted his motorcycle’s speed capability. A second case about approaching an intersection at a speed unsuited to stopping was withdrawn.

Committed for Trial on Theft of Three Bicycles

Detective H Morrison testified an interview with the accused on 1h June in which he admitted taking a bicycle from Sunshine railway station ramp. He rode it to Camp Pell, tried to sell it, wrote a receipt, and sold it in Kensington for £3. He later directed police to a Home In South Toad where he claimed selling another bike from Sunshine. He admitted writing receipts and showed them to others. The next day he recovered the bicycle at a house. another bike from outside H V Menya factory was admitted and sold to a New Australian for 44 shillings. A witness described leaving a bicycle at Danjamin Street, Sunshine, and it later disappeared. Bail set at £100 with a surety of £190.

Insult Offer Sparks City Council Debate
