Our Lady's Parish Ball at the Shire Hall attracted about 400 dancers. Twenty debutantes were presented to Dr. Simonds, Coadjutor Archbishop of Melbourne, with the Irish Pipe Band adding color and leading the procession. The event featured a Pride of Erin performance, Irish dancing by four girls, flowered stage decor, and a formal dais introduction with local dignitaries. Unusual Ejectment Case at Sunshine Court
At Sunshine Court on Tuesday two ejectment cases were heard with four parties and three solicitors. Norman H Pengelly sought ejectment against Mr and Mrs G Foster at 10 Watt St while Laughton Garfield Fraser sought against Robert Lanth. Judge Hammond granted ejectment in both, stayed six months, noting housing shortage was at an all time high with the position awful.
