Husband and wife clash over support in Sunshine court

Ethel Pomeroy sued Thomas Edward Pomeroy for leaving the family without means of support. She testified he claimed he would go away and has sent no money since April. The man, 63, earning little, said he cannot provide but wishes to return home. the case was adjourned 28 days. Keith McKenzie was fined for railway trespass at Sunshine.

Sleeper Disturbed in Railway Trespass Case

A homeless man named John Power was charged at Sunshine court on June 5 with trespassing on railway property after being found asleep in a railway shed. Prosecution evidence showed he had been jailed a week. he was convicted and discharged.

Sunshine court fines in motor and disorderly cases

Walter Slocum and Edgar Martyn were fined at the Sunshine court for offences under the Motor Car Act. Leonard Mathews, John Henry Thomas, James Rockett, Kudwin James Fox, and others faced fines for driving without a licence or related offences. A police withdrawal and a local immunity update were also noted, including a council meeting on immunization at five state schools with 158 of 179 children fully treated.
