Loan Council discussed and budget rules outlined
Mr G Caney explains the Loan Council as a joint audit by six states and the Commonwealth Treasurer. He notes the council aims to coordinate borrowing and tax policy, avoid intergovernmental competition, and uses a formula only if unanimity fails. The talk covers recent allocations, potential formula use, and upcoming loan issues for 12 months.
