Sunshine Associates eight players joined Gee Jong on Wednesday May 27 for the Pairs section of the Victory Cup. Mrs A Boorer and Mrs E Bur earned 72 nett two under par and third place in an open field. Mrs K Tucker won the 18 hole stroke on Saturday May with 64 nett. Mrs F Willaton led the fag event on Wednesday June 3 with nett 62. Weather expected to be favorable on Wednesday June 10 as Guest Day plans proceed.

Obituary of Cyril H Buckingham at Footscray
Cyril H Buckingham aged 62 of Tealdence arcus Avenue Footscray died in the weekend. An employee of Sunshine Harvester Works he was a gifted artist and organizer of several Sunshine art exhibitions. Under Hugo Buckingham he wrote poetry and contributed to the Sunshine Advocate after 1924. He was brother in law to the late Ern Naylor.

Thomas Edward Davey of 76 Parsona Street Sunshine died suddenly at home aged 70. A Sunshine resident since 1926 he was a member of Sunshine BSL and the ex service men’s Masonic lodge. Funeral was at Footscray Cemetery with Rev T R Vizard conducting. he leaves a widow two sons and two daughters.
