Election Outlook in Braybrook Central Riding
Indications point to an contest for Braybrook Shire Council in the Central Riding with Dr. Ralph Garde seeking re nomination after six years. Possible opponent Mr. Charles Whiting hovered as a Labor banner possibility while Garde’s absence from meetings recently dims support. Whiting, a UMFOF member and UF S Dispensary treasurer, is noted for public service on the industrial side.

Sunshine court for obstructing constable duties
John Patrick O'Brien of Wood Street North Melbourne faced Sunshine court today on a charge of obstructing a constable in the execution of duty regarding an incident on June 26. The case, like others against four men recently, was dismissed. Police say the Sunshine force has worked hard to solve recent robberies in Sunshine. Separate youths admitted breaking into homes, with loot hidden under houses or tossed into a creek, prompting divers to recover items from icy waters. The matter will be aired at the Children's Court in coming weeks. Also, Sunshine Golf Club members held their annual khana with Mrs Clinnick winning two events, and Mrs Deed and Mrs Baker winning the Canadian foursomes in the afternoon. St Albans faces a dry spell with water shortages affecting domestic use and farmers awaiting rain.
