Braybrook Shire Council faces no contest in four retiring wards with all current members unopposed. Tap dancing class opening at Mooney's Hall

Messrs Dick Tyres and Alf Stein announce a tap dancing class starting Tuesday at Mooney's Hall Devonshire Road. Children will be taught 7 to 8 o'clock with adults from 8 p.m. onward. Both instructors are experienced and capable. Further particulars are advertised.

Blanket Appeal Seeks Donations For Braybrook Banket Fund

Contributions toward the Shire of Braybrook banket fund are listed as £8 3d, £3 3d from Victorian Casing Co, £1 from Miss Dudley, 14s from Shire of Braybrook outside employees, £1 12s collected at Maribyrnong Coursing Ground, total £14 12s. Mrs Aird provides two quilts and Presbyterian Ladies' Guild five quilts. Concert organizers aim for a large turnout and a "fall house" is confidently expected.

Albion Mothers' Club Gift Sale Boosts School Funds

A sale of gifts at Albion school on July 1 raised just over £11 for school comforts. The club bought firewood and briquettes for the selwet, sweets and cakes were shared on Arbor Day, and many items were presented during the year. Prizes and displays recognized pupils and staff, with Braybrook Council set to meet Monday night.

Single Men Revolt Over Sustenance at District Meeting

At a district unemployed meeting on Tuesday evening the single men voted a resolution to refuse sustenance work. Two weeks earlier single men were urged to work for sustenance but many refused, while payments are 6 shillings a fortnight or cash for actual work. Married men have not been consulted. The move follows a Central Unemployed Council ruling, with Sunshine branch either to follow procedure or sever ties, and appears influenced by Melbourne authorities.

Centenary Meeting Set To Decide Victoria Centenary Plans

Advertised public meeting called by Shire President Dr G W Penne on Tuesday August 11 will discuss Centenary celebrations for Victoria. Proposals include a presser court, Ballarat road plantation, and public tennis courts on rail land in Sun Crescent. Miss A Williamson leaves St Albans for Pascoe Vale duties.
