LACROSSE CLUB FIRST BALL A SUCCESS DESPITE LOW ATTENDANCE

The Victorian Lacrosse Association hosted a first Ball with Mrs Gibbs as hostess and Mr C A M West among guests. Miss Joy Nugent of Ascot Vale won the Belle of the Ball prize in a powder blue georgette gown while decorations and supper room design drew praise. Master of Ceremony Ray Roberts led the event with casual ease.

LC.1. Football Club Beats Newport At Newport

The LC.1. football club defeated Newport last Saturday at Newport by 7 points. Goalkickers were Graham G, Cook, R. Grant and Neal. Best players were Power, Hunter, R. Grant, Pope, Graham and Honey.

Footpath Woes Near New Suffolk Road Homes

Residents of Suffolk Road Sunshine complain about muddy footpaths after the Arlington Building Company has erected 14 houses and a shop with two more started next week. A further 22 houses are planned. About £000 already spent. residents expect Braybrook Shire Council to assist with footpath work.

Community Singing At the Baptist Church in Ridley Street

A community singing session led by Mr W Sampson will be held at the Boys Club Hall Ridley Street on Thursday. Dorrie the blind singer will perform and be heard over the air. A gai evening for all who attend with sixpence admission.
