Sunshine Archdiocese opens new Sunshine church
His Grace Dr Mannix Archbishop of Melbourne opened a brick new church in Sunshine on Sunday January 26. Parish priest Rev F Ryder led ceremonies with many visitors present and a guard of honor for the Archbishop. Funds raised for church and school maintenance reduced the parish overdraft, with donations totalling £1940/7 and a remaining balance of £6900. The project cost £9,600 for church fabric and £1,350 for furnishings, with stained glass £900 donated by parishioners.
