The Sunshine City Soccer Club held its annual meeting on Tuesday January 28. Association delegates C Armstrong T Higgina. Training for the season will start soon and a February 11 picnic to Frankston is planned with fares 7/6 adults 3/- children. La Beach Sprints At Footscray Next Friday
Local sporting fans will see Lloyd La Beach Olympic sprint star in action at Footscray Football Ground next Friday. This will be his only Melbourne appearance as Tay Beach holds world amateur records over 10 and 20 metres. A total of 550 entries have been received for the carnival, with 102 for the one mile event split into divisions for the handicap. The program starts at 7 30 pm and promises a full day of events and entertainment.

Night at Thompson Combustion Engineering Welcomes Chief
Employees at Thompson Combustion Engineering held a Smoky Night to honor General Shwager and Tweedor Mr A B Lee back from a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe. Colored slides from the trip were shown plus films on English engineering. Manager N A Falconer welcomed Mr Lee who praised the visit and compared conditions abroad. The evening ended with singing and employee performances.
