Harvester Picnic a Great Success
The 600 children enjoyed the Harvester Picnic with free treats and games. Noel Mullen won multiple athletic events while Dr. A E Shepherd and city officials attended. Miss Sunshine 1952 was awarded, as retirees were welcomed to the entertainment unit.

Way to Finance Community Facilities
The Mayor Dr G E Dobson urged the council to prepare a Loan Schedule for next year listing works such as parks infant welfare centres drainage and a swimming pool funded by the council borrowing powers. The Loan Council meets in June and applications are due by 15 March.

Film Circle to See Interesting Films
The first Film Circle gathering of the year will show two or three color films this Saturday at x o clock in the Methodist Church. Topics include a Canadian Indian legend a study of Indian life in New Mexico and a release by the Israeli Government A House in the Desert. New films are ready to cover winter needs and all interested are invited to view and discuss programmes chosen for quality and general interest.

Legal Action on Poor Building Unveiled by Inspector
Following a report from its building inspector a New Australian builder was found to have performed faulty workmanship in several houses. Sunshine Council on Monday referred the information to its prosecuting officer. Sunshine police report an unclaimed ladies bicycle awaiting an owner.
