A Keilor meeting to discuss district electricity supply is set for Thursday. Notices in this issue advertise further meetings at Deer Park and Rockbank addressed by H C White.
The Autumn racing carnival begins at Caulfield this Saturday with the Oakleigh Plate as the feature five furlongs. A strong field includes Winooka returning from the U S A and contenders Melason Silver King Arachne Heros Sir John among others. Best bets singled out are Zetheus and Gay Arnley with strong early speed expected.
The Sunshine Cricket Association seeks funds for a country Easter tour to Wonthaggi. Under President Gr W. J. Pridham the group has expanded from a local body to a broader program with improved play standards. Donations may be sent to the association secretary or the Advocate office for acknowledgment.
The Sunshine Movie Society, formed recently, makes progress under J H Jackson of Clarke Street. He leads with Norman McKay and J Guest guiding photography and direction as a dedicated group works on a new film. A studio visit shows substantial effort and quality takes. Plans include expanding the studio to film a wider range of pictures.
