Sunshine Sewer Plan Fade Amid Cost Dilemmas
The Metropolitan Board of Works faces a near hopeless push to introduce sewerage in Sunshine. Estimated cost rises to £164,000 with a 1 percent rate yielding under £2,000, insufficient to attract population growth. The piece urges council talks with the sanitary contractor over poor depot sanitation and fetid street carts, noting lax maintenance risks a return to worse conditions and a near old iron age.
