Prisoner of War Bateman Interred in Japanese Camp

Word from Red Cross confirms Lieut P J Bateman previously listed as missing is interned at Rentsuji camp in Japan. Bateman, Melbourne University law graduate, played lacrosse and cricket, son of Lieut Colonel W J Batemen of Caulfield. Also noted on leave are Sergt Observer Ian Perry and Sgt Bob Parsons after service with the AI Force in the Northern Territory.
