Miss Gladys Houghton daughter of Mr and Mrs E Houghton married Mr Charles son of Mr and Mrs Charles at St Mark's Church of England Sunshine. The ceremony featured Brownies in attendance, a wedding march, and a glow of white marquisette with orange blossom veil. About 100 guests later joined at St Mark's for reception before the couple departed for touring.

A large gathering of boys and parents attended the annual windup of the Boys Club. Twenty eight touring club members in colorful coats added gaiety as the junior club performed gymnastic displays and competitive games. Reports from secretaries and treasurers summarized the past year for junior senior and girly clubs. Dr R A Garde awarded caps to J Dickie and J Secombe for proficiency and presented a shield to the junior side for the most marks. Will Sampson led a community singing session. A dainty supper was served by the ladies.
