Braybrook Council will elect a new shire president at its upcoming meeting on Monday. In election results, Drs. Pennell Dempster and Garde are declared elected members of the council.
The Western Riding Braybrook election ended with Gr Pennell defeated by ex-Dr Diggins at Dy Park booth. Pennell thanked ratepayers, colleagues, and the press while Diggins conceded with disappointment, noting promises could not be relied upon.
In Mt Brayhe a declaration marked the River Riding result with thanks to Dr Dempster for help and to volunteers and car lenders. Mr Dawson spoke as a sportsman, thanked supporters and opponents for their votes, and embraced the verdict with resolve.
Melbourne Cricket Club curator Mr Luttrell to supervise turf patch laid at Selwyn Park for Sunshine Cricket Club with six inch piled turf and turf from Commonwealth Quarries. Committee members led by Mr Dedrick and Mr Downing will oversee, with volunteer labor and free cartage arranged.
