Health Committee notes rising pan service costs with nine tenders for three years. New rate 4 008 per pan per year vs 2 previously, council undecided if full rise will be borne by ratepayers. Braybrook also grants temporary saw mill operation with time and Sundays ban.
Trinity XI services listed 11 a m matinee evensong Rev W G Deer Park 930 a m car and 7 p m Evensor retiring collection for Allies Africa Stanway Appeal and Rev McGarlick of CM8 noted.
The Sunshine Progress Association reported rubbish dumping on vacant allotments and canvassed council action. Councillors doubted inspectors would catch offenders. Proposals for street signs at Ballarat and Hashite Roads and at Mark Road and Wright Street were approved. A request to enquire about work at a factory in First Avenue was referred to the inspector.
The Braybrook Motorcycle Club reports results from Sundays Sports Day at the Hraybnook track with multiple race wins. A working bee is planned for Saturday at the track and a VMACA Open Meeting at Essendon on Sunday. Resignations and new appointments are noted, plus a weekend trip to Lorne and vacancies for members.
The Methodist Church announces Sunday School at 10 with worship at 11. Young People meet at 7 pm led by Missie shine. Service by Sune Par Park at 14 am. Sun School 9 am. Ker and R. Green to attend. Steamediee Annual Dazua set for Saturday August 28.
Sunday services include multiple Salvation Army meetings and Sunday School at 1 pm and 7 pm sessions. Tuesday and Friday programs feature corps cadets, women’s classes, and Bible studies. A memorial service for Mr Mounsey is noted, plus Sunday morning worship and a youth program. Presbyterian church lists a Sunday School and two services, with ordination and induction of an elder scheduled.
Lodge notices announce Branch meets on Tuesday next at 1.80 p.m in the Supper Room Town Hall Durham and Miss I Rewell secretary. Sun Members are advised the Lodge meets next Thursday in the Methodist Hall Withers Street Hamel Street Sunshine secrets secretary H Blakey.
The Fortnightly Meeting will be held in St. Mark's Hall on Wednesday next at 7.30 p.m.
