The Australian Women's Association Sunshine Branch held a Freak Evening at Mas ott Hall with ladies only. President Miss Burmeist an and Secretary Mrs Taylor attended as judges noted the event showcased progress and the branch’s focus on women. Bert Witt of Whitehall Street Footscray pleaded guilty at Sunshine Court on Thursday to being in the vicinity of the ladies lavatory in the Sunshine railway station waiting room on May 12 at about 8 45 p m with a woman believed to be a lady while both were intoxicated. Special Railway Checker Roche testified to the incident and noted Witt had a bottle of beer. Porter John Sherman had previously warned Witt. Witt was fined 1 pound plus 1 shilling costs. the fine was paid.
