St Albans Tennis Club Plans Monthly Five Hundred Series
The St Albans Tennis Club will continue the Five Hundred tournaments and dances through year end. Events will be on the fourth Saturday each month and an October eve event before the Duke's arrival. Mrs Erin Roberts' band will play and J Patrick will run the dances. A grand aggregate trophy valued at 3/2 will be expanded to accommodate five hundred players along with nightly prizes. The club thanked patrons for past support and pledged continued effort to maintain popularity and success.

A Sunshine camp euchre night at Mr and Mrs Hand on Chapman Street drew a large attendance. Mrs R Storey won the ladies prize donated by Alex Wilson. Mr F Stevens won the men’s prize donated by F Schmidt. consolation prizes went to Mrs F Stevens and Mr J Duxon. Keith Harwood won a box of chocolates. The club plans another euchre at the Hand home on August 14 and will camp at Lorne for Christmas.
