Tragic Circus Ground Accident Claims 9-Year-Old Boy
At Sunshine on a Saturday afternoon during tent setup for Wirths Circus a boy named William George Greenwood aged 9 was crushed by wheels of a motor truck carrying equipment. He died shortly after hospital admission. Funeral at Cheltenham Cemetery drew many sporting friends of his father Claude Greenwood. Reverend R F Adams led services and floral tributes filled the hearse. Pallbearers included Dr J R Parrons and C G Carlton J P. A combined Angae Service will be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday.
