Two rounds of soccer were played over Easter with local teams performing below the early season pace. Sunshine United's senior side drew one match and lost the other while Ra City were defeated in both games.
In a Como Park match last Saturday United drew with Prahran 3 to 3 in a fast paced affair. Prahran opened the scoring through a forward after a misplay by United keeper Clim sock, Pavlov equalised for United, and Prahran netted again before halftime to make it 3 3. The second half remained even with both sides creating chances but failing to convert.
United reserves edged Prahran 1 0 at Whine Park as wind favored Prahran after a tight first half. Evans and Miller scored for United while the under 15s wore down by Brighton 6 1.
City failed to score in Easter fixtures as a disorganized lineup, four changes from the previous week hampered performance. South Melbourne United won 4 1, with City’s goal from a penalty. Reserves were weak in both games, while the under 17 and under 15 teams posted large wins. The club prepares for upcoming matches at Sunshine Park and Sandringham.
