On Saturday March 20 at St. Mark's Sunshine the marriage of Shirley Taafe and Raymond Thomas was officiated by Rev. R F Adams. The bride wore white silk net with lace and carried frangipanni and eladioli. vows were exchanged in a ceremony attended by 100 guests at the Masonic Hall Sunshine followed by a reception for 160 friends and relatives.
Amy Florence Finn daughter of L Finn and Mrs Finn of 106 Devonshire Road Sunshine wed Samuel Darrell son of Mr and Mrs Gathercole of 11 Nixon Street Sunshine on Saturday March 27 at Our Lady Church Sunshine Rev Father Ryder officiated. The bride wore a lace gown over satin with tulle veil and coronet of orange blossom. Bridesmaids Edna Rigby and Rita Hayes wore mauve frocks with lace straw head dresses and pastel bouquets.
Joan Turner daughter of Mr and Mrs E G Turner Walmer Ave St Albans wed Reginald William Collins on 20 March 1948 at St Albans Church of England in St Albans. Rev J F Adams officiated. Bridesmaids included Miss Callins and Sylvia Turner. Best man R Woods and groom’s brother Frank Turner. Reception at St Albans Hall preceded by wedding march and song Ill Walk Beside You. Honeymoon leave noted with bride in a black dress and hat.
