Public Meeting Debates Free Trade and Reciprocity on Island
A Tuesday evening gathering at Waugl's Hall discussed Free Trade and Reciproc ity with D Kaman chairing. The resolution backing free trade failed as speakers argued against it, while a proposal for negotiations with the United States drew near unanimous approval to withdraw the motion. The Island Railroads topic sparked noisy exchange, and Thomas Kellys motion for a Judge Probate office and Registry of Deeds in Prince County passed unanimously.
