Rockwood Council Minutes June 10 1970 Regular Meeting
The Rural Municipality of Rockwood held its June 10 1970 council session in Stonewall with Reeve Fines presiding. At Stonewall, Manitoba Magistrate J A Pulfer presided on multiple traffic cases. Bryan Tesco and Tray James MacKenzie faced fines for faulty equipment and careless driving. Roman Evanch Defeated In Race For Governor
Roman Evanch was defeated in the governor race at the District Two Convention of the Aruuadeting of Kinsmen and Kinettes held in Dauphin Manitoba. The event drew about 600 attendees with elections on Saturday and a governor ball that evening.

Edward Best School Visits Centennial Concert Hall
Pupils from Edward Best School attended the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall for the Centennial Celebrations show on Sunday May 31. Performances included square and sword dances, vocal solos, piano and accordion pieces by two blind performers, tumbling and gymnastics, and a nine year old duo performing the Hootchie Kootchie. A 60 voice adult chorus closed with This Land Is Your Land How Great Thou Art and Manitoba. The event, praised as a provincial pride builder, featured Len Andre as MC and Ted Komar's orchestra, with a standing ovation at the end.
