Peace Tower flag travels Interlake for Canada's 125th
The Peace Tower flag travels through the Interlake as Canada marks 125 years. Kinsmen Kinette clubs promote patriotism with a Proud to be Canadian flag signing campaign targeting 1.25 million students across 600 communities plus 350 additional towns. Flags will join at Terry Fox Memorial in Thunder Bay on June 20 1992 and then fly in Ottawa for July 1 1992 celebrations. A petition accompanies the flags to Ottawa for MPs to read. Local ceremonies included Teulon Stonewall Stony Mountain Arbory and Gimli with Rosser School choir singing. Canada’s flag was adopted Oct 22 1964 and proclaimed Feb 15 1965.
