Railway grant eyed for station lane works in Rochdale district

Rochdale Council received word from the Railway Commissioners offering half the cost of £22 10s 0d to upgrade the lane from the station between Astridge and Gosberg properties to Rocky Point road. Conditions require 24 hour access, brick paving and an overhanging ramp. Council to proceed with no expense to Acarborough Ward, while Rockdale and Hopetoun Ward bear the rest. An Hurstville Picture Palace benefit on Friday 16 inst supported the Hurstville Part Improvement Fund, drawing a strong turnout. St George Baseball Club members and partners attended in force, complimenting the proprietors on their civic spirit.
