At the Rockdale Council meeting ratepayers offered humorous observations about street work in Tantallon Avenue and Tabrett Street. One writer praised Tantallon Avenue then mocked its two week halt suggesting the street name should be Tantalising Having You. Another speaker celebrated Tabrett Street improvements and noted locals were being called toffa by passersby. An alderman urged hanging the letter and framing it while the Mayor linked small spending to improved social status.
