M F A M F A Meet to Discuss Amalgamation
J L Wilton president of the Manitoba Federation of Agriculture and Co operation and J Schulz president of the Manitoba Farmers Union met recently to discuss greater cooperation or possible merger. Schulz favored a broader federation while cautioning against tampering with resolutions. He proposed MFAC merge with MFU and then affiliate with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, a plan his members might not accept. Wilton suggested a joint committee to review resolutions and present to government. Schulz noted this may be impractical due to unresolved disagreements on farm storage and voluntary requisitions and asked Wilton to bring the idea to his board meeting on October 22.
