Saskatchewan to host new mobile home plant at Weyburn
Premier T C Douglas announced L and C Trailer Co Ltd will open a $200000 Saskatchewan plant at Weyburn airport occupying 40 1000 square feet. Production starts February 1 1958 with 75 workers rising to 125, mostly Weyburn residents. The unit line includes fully furnished trailers with refrigeration, stoves, insulation, and floor heating. American principals Marion Mendenhall and Eric R Shaw say most components will be Canadian. The venture aims to use Saskatchewan resources, boost payroll to about 250000 annually, and expand as petroleum and regional development grow. Communications directed to Salt Lake City Utah until Weyburn representation is established.
