Watrous hosts brine shrimp venture in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan gains a noted brine shrimp industry with Wardley Brine Shrimp Company opening in Watrous. Eggs and shrimp are harvested from Little Manitou Lake, washed, dried, and packaged for sale to the United States Canada and Europe. Wardley Products Company of New York organized the operation with Edward Levy as president and Franc Debeve as general manager, employing about 30 people.
