Fishing Trip Ends in Near Tragedy for Bissett Group
On May 3 a fishing trip to the Manigotogan River nearly ended in disaster when principal Mr Cryderman and a group of Bissett school students crossed English Brook Dam on an old raft. The raft capsized after a twelve foot fall, but Cryderman Reichel and several students survived with only minor bruises. Reichel risked crossing to aid Roberta Barton and Ian Arnason, while others were swept by two more falls before reaching calmer waters. The group credited calmness with their survival.
