Keewatin Diocese to Pioneer Indian Priesthood
The Thirty third Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Keewatin meeting in Kenora endorsed creating an Indian Priesthood for isolated villages. Twenty candidates start training in June at Star Lake, with on the job work under Archdeacon Gary Woolsey. A $1600 donation from Fort Hope aids the Aircraft Ministry.

Scout Chuckwagon Championships at Pinawa Arena 1972
The 1972 Boy Scout Stampede on March 25 at Pinawa Arena featured provincial Chuckwagon races. Lac du Bonnet teams won both trophy events, with Ice Runners leading in the Scout race at 60.2 seconds, followed by Pinawa teams. Cub Chuckwagon winners were Lac du Bonnet Rak Sha, and the Cub Smoosh Race saw Lac du Bonnet first and Pinawa second. Continued on Page 2.

Tom Osborn of Pointe Du Bois receives a CUPE scholarship to study eight weeks at the Canadian Labour College in Montreal starting April 30. Courses cover Economics History Sociology Political Science Trade Unionism and Industrial Relations. The college is jointly operated by the Canadian Labour Congress McGill University and the University of Montreal.

Lac Du Bonnet Elementary Science Fair Winners Named
Lac du Bonnet Centennial School hosted the seventh annual Science Fair for grades 4 to 6 with twenty six projects. Prizes awarded per grade level ranged from 5 to 1 dollars, honoring top projects such as Dinosaurs, The Electromagnet, Plants and How They Grow, and The Ear. Engraved trophies were presented to top individuals, with a large shared trophy remaining at the school.
