Beausejour Lutheran church committee members have raised 246.13 for the Beausejour Brokenhead War Memorial Fund through 1947 and 1948 events including a silver tea raffle a Bean and Holophi supper and donations from the English Lutheran Ladies League and Lutheran Ladies Aid. The Chamber of Commerce met Liquor control commissioner W R Clubb about a government liquor store but no funding for this year was promised. The Springfield C C F will hold its Beausejour nominating convention on April 9 with noted speakers expected.
Reeve Fred Small of Lydiatt appears favored to win the nomination due to years of civic activity. Beausejour attracts attention as McLeod's Ltd tests site viability for a Farmers' Department Store chain, citing Beausejour as a central agricultural hub.
