A new venture, Superior Auto Body Works, owned by Jack Davis and Harvey Windsor, was destroyed by fire in the early hours of June 23 at Pine Falls. Davis lost his home and equipment, while building owner Mike Huhn faced $500 in barber equipment losses. origin of the blaze remains unknown.

Marie Gabrielle Eveline Turcotte of Maple Creek became the bride of William Horbatiuk of Landerville in a 9 m ceremony at Notre Dame church Lac du Bonnet. Rev Father S Paradis officiated as attendants described the bride’s ravon sheer gown with a halo crown and long veil.

Survived by four sons Bill Kenora Henry Nick and two daughters Anne Perwaich Winnipeg and Mary Wakefield Vancouver. 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers listed. Born in Austria emigrated to Canada 45 years ago. Predeceased by wife Jessica in 1945.

Seven Sisters Community Club Holds June 13 Meeting

The Seven Sisters Community Club met the week of June 13 with vice-president R. E. Rougeau presiding. After reports the group ordered 200 chairs, donated three dozen to Whitemouth hospital, some to Guide Scout HQ, kept some for clubrooms, and planned a community picnic with a committee to arrange details.

Beausejour hosted a weekend double header featuring a Winnipeg all star lineup from the Elmwood Giants Reo Reds and A N and A F. Girl Guides Farewell Concert At Seven Sisters

The Girl Guides hosted a farewell concert and dance Thursday night at 8 30 in the Community hall. Performances included Gypsy Song and dance Indian club swinging square dance Sailors Hornpipe tap dance and a one act play Bride and Groom. Daisy King spoke for the group and gifts were presented to Mrs Min Outhwaite with Mrs Ednad Thompson to take over the Guides. Proceeds benefited the Guide fund and hospital guild lunch money.

Regatta Planned for Lac du Bonnet July First

The Lac du Bonnet July 1 regatta marks the 25th anniversary event with Friday’s sport program praised as among the best in years. A 20 member committee oversees funds used to finish community halls in use, sanitary arrangements, ball park and skating rink upkeep, fuel and lighting, and caretaker expenses.
