A teenager needs extra food after school to cover energy expended in a strenuous life. The snack should be larger than that for younger children and enough to tide him to the next regular meal without spoiling appetite for more important foods.
Beausejour reports several births in Dencross Beausejour and Tyndall with a string of local notes. County sports cover baseball tournaments at Beausejour and Pine Falls, scores 8 5 and 7 5, plus lac du Bonnet entries and a Beausejour Lac du Bonnet Pine Falls school games. Dr Henry Kawecki and wife celebrate 25th wedding anniversary at St Marys hall with family attending a silver presentation.
A June 13 benefit dance at Sinnott's ranch house supported Beausejour hospital. Mrs. Russell Williams and her Vancouver family visit Mr. and Mrs. H Williams, Rae Bachelor noted as a former local teacher. Mr. and Mrs. B Lodge and daughter Betty Lyn return from a four week Vancouver trip. A farewell party is planned June 19 for Mrs. Howard Williams Mrs. C Specht and Mrs. B Lodge who are leaving soon. A return baseball game was held here with Great Falls in attendance.
Florence Knox struck five runs for Pointe and Ann Fraser added four for Great Falls in a high scoring clash. Pointe built a 21 17 lead as the teams exchanged blows and near the end the outcome remained in doubt.
On Wednesday June 19, Messrs. Karklin McFadden Allen Apritchard Preston and Pringle attended a Winnipeg game between the Fulham club from England and the Winnipeg All Stars in the local stadium.
Mrs J Hawkes visits at her sister Mrs Letain’s home in Kenora and plans to attend her niece’s wedding during the stay.
