St Michael's Catholic church in Tyndall hosted a parish concert on Sunday May 30 in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The play Blessed Virgin Mary in Lourdes featured Sophie Lashyn Sylvia Bzdel Marjorie Dancne Polly Sawchuk Christine and Marjorie Klim-Chuk. Performances included songs and recitations by Marcia Bodnarchuk Walter Roth Teddy Mastaller Pearl Boyko with a closing speech by Mrs Mary Dyma who spoke of a Rome Vatican visit. Lunch followed.

North Eastern Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Regional Conference at Lac du Bonnet gathered thirty seven delegates on Wednesday June 9 including Lac du Bonnet Transcona Oakbank and Winnipeg. Absences came from Beausejour Elma Pine Falls Rennie and Whitemouth due to weather and bad roads. Executive members and most of Transcona council led by Mayor J Johnson formed the delegation. A H Watson opened the session and M J G McMullen spoke on making communities better places to live noting that chambers should include key farmers, the largest group of district businessmen.
