Golf Dreams and Poke at Duffers in a Daydream Tale
Shapland writes a humorous memoir style piece on golf fever. The narrator recalls learning to loves the game while recounting dreams where Gene Sarazen and Jimmy Demerit advise quitting golf. He contrasts duffers and good players, mocks serious golf psychology, and ends with a funny woodland close about Mert Cushman saving him from an apoplectic moment on a Belvedere course.
