Lac du Bonnet Mine Rescue Comp Tops Manitoba Teams
The 1972 Provincial Mine Rescue Competitions were held in Lac du Bonnet Arena with co hosts Tantalum Mining and Dumarton Mines. Seven Manitoba mines participated and teams faced a staged make believe mine scenario testing rescue operations and decision making under pressure.

Winnipeg River Claims Two Lives At Great Falls Dam
Two men drowned while fishing in the Winnipeg River near the Great Falls power dam Saturday. Theodore Paquin of Lac du Bonnet aged 34 and Andre Benoit, 19 of 246 Cockburn Street Suite 1, disappeared after four people fell in. Arthur Hopcraft rescued his wife then searched for the others as divers later recovered the bodies about sixty feet from the fall site.

Minnewawa Chapter Forms Under MAR N in Manitoba
