Whooping Cough Prevalence and Booster Schedule in Selkirk Area
Whooping cough remains prevalent in the Selkirk Health Unit area. Many children lack boosters, with some overdue four years. Parents should follow a three shot start a month apart, then boosters at one year and two years, possibly a final booster when school begins. If no booster in two years, consult a doctor or visit a Well Baby Clinic. Immunization lowers disease severity, especially under age three.
