Pine Falls tea and engagements mark community week

The Ladies Guild of Pine Falls Anglican church hosted a tea at Mrs. E. McKew’s home on Wednesday June 26 honoring Mrs. J. E. Lane. Guests invited by guild members bid farewell to Lane, with Spring blossoms as a backdrop and helpers including Mrs. J. French, Mrs. M. Haider, and Miss Ruby Anderson assisting. Additional notes mention Mrs. Campbell of Winnipeg visiting, Mr. and Mrs. Darcy arriving from Toronto, and local social events such as a Merrimakers Club dance and a kitchen shower for Miss Mary Irvine. The Rovers and University softball teams also played June 26, with University winning 8 to 4 amid many errors and strong enthusiasm.

Farewell party for Elizabeth Gretsinger hosts and guests

Winnipeg woman guest of honor at family gathering

Sunrise Service at Pine Falls Church on Rock

Rain did not deter a sizable turnout for the annual sunrise service of the United and Anglian churches in Pine Falls. Dr J Lane led with Miss Ruby Anderson at a portable organ, as worshippers stood on Precambrian Shield rock above the Winnipeg River and later shared a campfire breakfast with bacon eggs coffee and toast.
